SEO Services: 7 Steps to Google's First Page
You have a website, but no customers are coming from Google? That's a very common situation. A site can look great, but if Google can't find or understand it, it's like an unmarked shop on the edge of town: wonderful inside, but nobody walks in.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the set of work that helps a website rank higher on Google for the searches that matter to you. In this article we show what an SEO service actually includes, in 7 steps. The goal is for you to know what to expect and what to ask before you hire anyone.
If you're looking for practical techniques to apply yourself, we have a separate article: 10 practical ways to get your site to the top of Google. This article is about how an SEO service works.
Why SEO matters
When people look for a product or service, they usually type it into Google: "custom furniture Tashkent", "CRM for a training center", "website development". That's a ready customer: they already need something and are searching right now.
Advertising buys that customer with money: when you stop paying, the traffic stops. SEO prepares your website so that Google shows it on its own. Results come more slowly, but they last. The best outcome usually comes from using both together.
Step 1. SEO audit: where are we now
Any serious SEO work starts with an audit — a health check for your website:
is the site indexed by Google (can Google see your pages);
how fast pages load and whether they work well on phones;
technical errors: broken links, duplicate pages, incorrect redirects;
whether titles and descriptions are written properly;
which searches your competitors rank for.
The result is a clear list: what works, what's broken and where to start.
Step 2. Keywords: how your customers search
The heart of SEO is the right keywords. You may call your service one thing while customers search for it differently. For example, you say "web development", but a customer types "how much does a website cost".
In this step:
the searches customers actually use are collected (in Uzbek, Russian and, if needed, English);
searches are grouped, and each group gets its own page;
"close to buying" searches (such as "service", "price", "order") are prioritised.
Step 3. Technical SEO: so Google reads your site correctly
This step is invisible to visitors, but essential:
a sitemap and robots.txt so Google knows which pages to look at;
speed — compressing images and removing unnecessary code;
mobile-friendliness — the site fully works on phones;
structured data so Google understands more precisely what a page is about;
hreflang for multilingual sites so Google shows each language version to the right audience.
For example, on the 6-language tourism website Triptonia, which we built for international travellers, SEO is fully set up with structured data, a sitemap and hreflang.
Step 4. On-page optimization and content
Google understands a page through its text. That's why:
every important page has a clear heading (H1) with its keyword;
the meta title and meta description — the text shown in search results — are written to make people click;
service pages are filled with answers to customers' questions;
blog articles cover new searches (like the one you're reading now);
pages are connected with internal links.
Content is the longest-lasting part of SEO: every useful article can bring in new customers.
Step 5. Local SEO: being on the map
If you're looking for customers in Tashkent or another city, local SEO matters:
your Google Business Profile is completed in full: address, opening hours, phone, photos, services;
a process for collecting customer reviews is set up;
your address and contact details are shown accurately and consistently on the website.
That way, people searching "near me" or with your city name will also see you on the map.
Step 6. Trust and links
Google trusts a site more when other reliable sites link to it. The right way:
listings in industry directories and platforms;
mentions on partner, client and media websites;
useful content that people link to naturally.
The wrong way is cheap purchased links. They may help for a short while, but if Google detects them, the site gets penalised and rankings drop.
Step 7. Measurement and reporting
SEO results are judged by numbers, not by feelings — using Google Search Console and Google Analytics:
which searches the site appears for and in what position;
how many people arrived from search;
how many of them submitted a request or called.
A good SEO service gives you a clear monthly report: what was done, what changed and the plan for next month.
What's needed from your side
SEO isn't only the contractor's job. To get results faster, the business owner also needs to provide a few things:
Access to the website and accounts. The site's admin panel, Google Search Console, Analytics and your Google Business Profile — all of them registered in your name.
Information about your business. Your list of services, the questions customers ask most, and who your competitors are.
Timely approvals. Reviewing and approving new pages and articles quickly.
Real photos and case studies. Photos of your work, team and completed projects make content credible.
Asking for reviews. Asking a happy customer to leave a Google review is the simplest and most useful step for local SEO.
When the contractor and the client work together, every month brings clear, measurable results.
From our own experience: in July 2026 our site onesystem.uz reached first place on Google for the Uzbek searches "mobil ilova yaratish" (mobile app development) and "telegram bot yaratish" (Telegram bot development), and the first page for "sayt yaratish narxi" (website cost) — with no ads, through SEO alone. Rankings change over time, which is why SEO is ongoing work.
When will you see results
The honest answer: SEO is not a quick fix. The first changes usually appear within a few weeks, while stable results take several months. It depends on competition, the state of your site and your content. If you need customers tomorrow, run advertising (Google Ads) alongside SEO.
Watch out: SEO red flags
When choosing an SEO provider, be wary of promises like these:
"We guarantee first place" — nobody controls Google's algorithm, so no one can guarantee that.
"Top of Google in a week" — sustainable SEO doesn't work that fast.
No explanation of the work — no reports, just "we're working on it".
Lots of cheap links — your site could be penalised later.
Access stays only with them — all accounts (Search Console, Analytics) should be in your name.
Frequently asked questions
How much do SEO services cost? The price depends on site size, competition, number of languages and the scope of work. We'll review your website and give you a price in a free consultation.
Is SEO a one-time job? No. Technical setup is done once, but content, monitoring and updates continue. Your competitors don't stand still either.
When should SEO start for a new website? Ideally while the site is being built. If structure, speed and headings are done right from the start, nothing needs to be rebuilt later.
What's the difference between SEO and Google Ads? Ads give instant visibility while you pay. SEO takes time but delivers long-term "free" traffic. Most businesses use both.
My site doesn't appear on Google at all. Where do I start? With an audit. The site may not be indexed, or there may be a technical error. We'll check your website for free and tell you the first steps.
Summary
An SEO service isn't magic — it's a clear sequence: audit, keywords, technical setup, content, local SEO, trust and measurement. Every step should be visible and understandable. Results come more slowly, but they last.
